The aim of the QQI Level 6 Photography programme is to provide the learner with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to work independently in a professional photographic setting or to progress to further higher education and training. Through a series of workshops, lectures and self-directed learning, which are designed to develop and enhance the students visual, creative and theoretical awareness, this educational process aims to equip the learner with the skills necessary to produce a visually successful and coherent body of photographic work and the ability to articulate their work practice when necessary. Upon completion of the Level 6 programme, students gain significant experience by organizing a professional graduate exhibition.

• Applicants should have successfully completed QQI Level 5 Photographic Studies or QQI Level 5 Art, Craft and Design.

The full QQI Level 6 Award facilitates entry, on a competitive basis, to a range of third-level institutions offering Art and Design and Photographic Studies.
