This module offers a broad and comprehensive introduction to the theory and practice of digital photographic production. It will develop practical, critical and academic skills of value to the learner pursuing further education or seeking employment in any area in which a basic knowledge of digital photography would be an advantage.

The Camera:

• Demonstrate the functions of the principal components of a digital camera and/or digital SLR camera.
• Take a series of photographic images demonstrating composition, perspective, tone, shape, form and space.
• Define concepts such as lens aperture, shutter speed, focus, depth of field and ISO sensitivity.

Post Capture Production:

Plan software manipulation techniques, use digital editing tools, resize, sharpen, colour change, image reconstruction.
