Students with additional needs
Waterford College of Further Education is committed to a policy of equal opportunity and welcomes students with additional needs.
If you are a student with a learning difficulty, illness or a disability, you may be entitled to additional support to help you complete your course.
Who might be eligible
You may be eligible for support if you have, for example, ASD, ADD, ADHD, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, if you are vision impaired, hearing impaired, have a mental health condition, a neurological condition, physical or mobility condition, a speech and language communication disorder or a specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia or dyscalculia.
What you need to do
If you think you might be eligible for support, you should fill out the application form. This is available from the Student Supports Coordinator, Eileen O’Carroll: eileenocarroll@wwetb.ie
You should do this as soon as you accept your course here at WCFE
You will then have a needs assessment meeting, after which appropriate supports will be put in place.
