Description
This is an intensive one-year course designed to provide experience in all the essential areas of art and design. If you want to prepare a portfolio for application to third level art courses or if you have an interest in art and would like to develop existing skills, the Art and Design Portfolio course will provide you with the opportunity to do so. This course will introduce you to a wide range of subjects and broaden your understanding of materials, techniques and processes.

QQI LEVEL 5 – ART, CRAFT & DESIGN (5M1984)
Minimum Entry Requirements
- Successful completion of Leaving Certificate/Leaving Certificate Applied or equivalent.
- Successful completion of interview
- Applicants are also requested to bring a portfolio containing between 5 - 10 pieces of recent artwork, which may include sketchbooks, to the interview.
Costs
A student services contribution of €50 is payable on registration. The purpose of which is to cover services, materials, and supports including printing, photocopying, library, student cards etc. This is non refundable.
Progression
The full QQI Level 5 Certificate facilitates entry, on a competitive basis, to a range of third-level institutions nationwide and progression to Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Photography. Further details are available from the relevant institutions. Specific progression links are available with SETU for this course.
