Description
This one year course is designed as a follow on from the QQI Level 5 Animal Care course. It will provide the student with the experience to further develop their skills in animal grooming, animal welfare, training and management. Emphasis will be placed on exploring different aspects of animal care for those interested in working in animal care professions.

Minimum Entry Requirements
- Students who have successfully completed L5 animal care.
- Mature applicants with relevant experience. Successful completion of interview
Work Experience
Work experience placement is an integral part of this course. Students must obtain one day per week work experience for the academic year. The day will be specified by the College.
Costs
A student services contribution of €50 is payable on registration. The purpose of which is to cover services, materials, and supports including printing, photocopying, library, student cards etc. This is non refundable.
Progression
With entrepreneurship in mind the Level 6 course can develop skills valuable to those interested in managing their own business or expanding their employability to other areas of the animal care industry, including, day-care, obedience and training, walking and working with Animal Welfare Organisations.
